Sumaridge is the newest winery in the Hemel en Aarde Valley and is dedicated to producing world-class wines. Sumaridge has embraced these traditions. This 216-hectare property sprawls across the north facing slopes of the valley, from the foothills of Galpin Peak in the Fernkloof Fynbos Nature Reserve to De Bos Dam, presenting breathtaking views over Walker Bay and the Babylonstoren mountains.

The Sumaridge wines are created in a natural stone winery, boasting sophisticated temperature control and vinification management, but still adhering to traditional quality processes like hand picking and sorting, gravity feed for whole fruit, all-barrel wood treatment, and minimum intervention with the chemical composition of the wine.

Minimum intervention during the winemaking process is the mantra of the stone build Sumaridge cellar. Hands-on winemaking is the key in making quality wines and that is the approach that is followed, at all times.

The Hemel and Aarde valley is renowned for the superlative wines that are produced in the region, as borne out by the wines of our illustrious neighbours, Hamilton Russell Vineyards and Bouchard Finlayson.
