Hidden Valley Wines
In his own words, Dave Hidden has always had a "dirty mind", but over the last few years he's put it to better use - seeking out the perfect "Hidden" parcels of "dirt" from which to craft his dream wines. Dave purchased his first vineyards in 1994 in Devon Valley. With almost immediate success with a 5-star rating in the Wine Magazine for the Hidden Valley Pinotage 1997.
Slowly but surely, the hobby of a Gauteng businessman was turning into a more serious business . This required an enormous amount of passion and belief in the future of the South African wine industry as well as seriously deep pockets and a willingness to back up the passion with a major long-term financial commitment. In the following years, Dave dug deep and laid his hands on one of the most sought after properties on the Helderberg mountain range, Hidden Valley as well as an exclusive property at the most southern tip of the African Continent, Cape L'Agulhas, Lands End.
After finding the right vineyards, Dave had to find the right winemaker to craft his dream wines. In 2005, Dave appointed New Zealander, Chris Kelly as winemaker and general manager of Hidden Valley Wines. After one successful harvest (and 20 000 kilometers), Chris is happy to release the new Hidden Valley & Lands End wines in stunning new packaging.

In these days of instant gratification, Hidden Valley Wines maintains long-term goals. In there role as custodians, rather than owners of the land, they aim to farm through sustainable beneficial management, so that no matter what scientific advances our descendants may benefit from, they will still have the chance to experience the "Gift Of Nature".
