Bernard and Petro Immeimann bought the property known as Clouds in 2002 to develop a guesthouse. Passionate Sauvignon Blanc drinkers, they were thrilled to have a stunning two and a half hectare Sauvignon Blanc vineyard as well. In return for grapes, Gyles Webb of the Thelema Estate situated next door, kindly agreed to make the wine. Clouds’ vineyards are north-facing on decomposed granite soil (hutton) situated on the crest of the Helshoogte Pass in the Banhoek Valley between Stellenbosch and Franschhoek. The vineyards are not irrigated and rely on the high subterranean water table and winter rainfalls.
