The origin of the new company, Catherine Marshall Wines, is firmly entrenched in the Barefoot Wine Company (BWC) that was born out of a fun-filled Friday night foot crush and beach party in Muizenberg in 1996. Phased re-branding has seen the wines of BWC marketed under the name of their winemaker and co-director, Cathy Marshall. Cathy Marshall also consults for Ridgeback wines, Lindhorst and GlenWood.

A successful collaboration with local and highly acclaimed artist Hannetjie de Clercq has added grace and originality to the wines. Hannetjie brings her own special magic with original paintings for the Catherine Marshall labels. With every new vintage Hannetjie produces original artwork for each wine label.

All Catherine Marshall Wines are produced from grapes selected by Cathy with the support of quality growers. Over the years, they have procured Pinot Noir, Sauvignon Blanc and Syrah grapes from sites best suited to each variety.
