THE MAVERICK RANGE
Every once in a while, a splendid independent non-conforming renegade surfaces – wines of individualistic style and distinctive character promising potential beyond the parameters of the Bellingham range. These are wines that are hugely admired and never forgotten.
Bellinghams “The Maverick” range of wines is inspired by Bellinghams founder Bernard Podlashuk. Pioneering winemaking the Cape ‘Pod’ challenged convention and custom, boldly exploring new territories in the art of crafting wines.
The Maverick coll ection conforms to few rules, the only proviso is that it is superb. It epitomizes opportunism. A Maverick wine is created when a pocket or two of fruit presents such such grand occasion that the winemaker is driven to craft an exceptional wine – single varietal or blend – that is not included anywhere else in the Bellingham range. It’s a wine that is daringly unique and extraordinarily appealing.
THE FOUNDER RANGE
This single Varietal Collection is a true reflection of the winemakers craft in creating wines which reflect the combination of terroir and intrinsic fruit character.
The wines in this range have the reputation for their consistency of quality and, upfront fruit character and sumptuous style whilst remaining true to cultivar expression.
The white wines are fresh, vibrant and elegant. The reds are complex, rich in fruit extract with subtle wood nuances and soft ripe tannins.
