Details
The aim with this wine was to make a classic styled Shiraz leaning more towards it’s European heritage. Violets, mulberry and smoky vanilla notes on the nose are backed up by bracing freshness and dry ripe tannins on the palate. A smoky, complex meat and spice character gives a long after taste that shows the promise of ageing.
The bunches were hand sorted and de-stemmed. Fermented in 3000 litre tanks with 3-4 pump overs per day. 2 weeks maceration on the skins. Malolactic fermentation in barrel. Matured for 16 months in 225 litre barrels. 70% New French oak and 30% 2nd fill American Oak.
