Kevin Gallagher
Founder and Managing Director
Kevin grew up in Durban and went to school in Pietermaritzburg. After school he attended the University of Natal where he qualified as a Chartered Accountant. After completing his time with the SA Army he left SA for London for a typical two year working holiday. Things didn’t quite go to plan and instead of returning to SA he went from London to Rhodesia (Zimbabwe) working on the financial side of the international chemical construction industry. After completion of the job in Zimbabwe he transferred to Germany and a few years later arrived in London settling permanently in 1975. Kevin worked as European Finance Director for a large South African group until 2000 which was when he started to develop SA Wines Online. He’d wanted to be involved in the SA / UK wine trade for a considerable time but the idea of a dedicated SA wine shop wasn’t viable – then came the Internet and the possibility of having a shop that covered the whole country and suddenly the economics made sense. It was time to make the idea a reality and SA Wines Online was born. After a slow start, as Internet shopping was a very new idea and not generally accepted, the company has grown by an average of 100% per year to its present position of having, by a large margin, the biggest range of fine South African wines in the U K. Kevin is a very keen Springbok and Natal Sharks rugby supporter and takes every opportunity on his regular visits to South Africa and the Cape to watch rugby ,and any other sport that happens to be on – this is in addition to the onerous role of travelling around the Winelands looking for new wines and keeping up with our existing suppliers.

Hayley Carter
Operations & Customer Liaison Director
Hayley is UK born and bred and she came to work for Kevin over 8 years ago, prior to the set up of SA Wines Online. Hayley has always had a keen interest in wine so when Kevin discussed his interest and plan to set up a South Africa internet wine company it was too good an opportunity to miss. Over the last 5 years Hayley has become very knowledgeable about South African Wines and the SA Wines Online Portfolio. From leaving school Hayley has worked in a number of industries from Event Planning, Publishing and Financial Services mostly in Administrative & Planning roles but from this she has a broad business knowledge and client liaison experience at all levels. Primarily Hayley is responsible for overall customer services, retail sales, weddings and special occasions enquiries and anything customer focused. In addition to this she is also responsible for business operations including logistics, purchasing, staffing and premises.

Hayley has completed her Wine and Spirit Education Trust Certificate in Wine and Spirits (Level 2), achieving a merit.

Mike Smith
Mike runs the warehouse, his primary responsibility is to make sure that all orders are packed and dispatched on time and all the other responsibilities that come with the smooth running of a busy warehouse.

Michael Sinclair
Michael assists Mike with the smooth running of the warehouse. Packing customer orders with care to make sure they arrive at your door safe and sound is an integral part of his role.

Ken Delgado
Ken is our accountant - the numbers man! He makes sure we all do everything by the book and process our orders, invoices and stock correctly.

Emily Biles
Emily is our front of house, answering the phone and meeting and greeting visitors. Emily assists everyone in the office and is responsible for administration duties including processing orders and tracking deliveries for our customers to ensure they are delivered on time. Thinking on your feet and being ready for anything is must in this role.

We make customer satisfaction our top priority and are all ready and willing to get the wine you want to you in tip-top condition.
