| No VAT increase until end of January Welcome to 2011! As you are all aware VAT went up to 20% on the 4th of January, however we are maintaining our pre increase prices until the end of January so take the opportunity now to replenish your stocks which were undoubtedly depleted over the festive period!This year will see some new additions to the SA Wines Online site including videos, pictures and news straight from your favourite estates, harvest reports over January, February and March, and featured wineries and winemakers in every newsflash with discounts on some of their wines that we stock. Featured Winery Warwick Wine Estate lies in a valley enclosed by the Simonsberg, Kanonkop and Klapmutskop. Originally part of a vast piece of land known as “Good Success”, this eighteenth century farm belonged to Colonel Alexander Gordon who renamed his portion in honour of the Warwickshire regiment which he commanded during the Boer War. Gordon’s Bay near Somerset West is named after Colonel Gordon for those of you familiar with South Africa. Like many of his compatriots, Gordon decided to stay in South Africa and so he settled at Warwick to raise livestock and grow fruit.
