Do you only sell wine online?
Yes we are an internet retailer based in South Wimbledon, London. Our Warehouse does not have any browsing facilities.

What is the minimum purchase?
The minimum order is 6 bottles and in multiples of 6 thereafter.

Can I order less than 6 bottles?
Yes you can, providing we have the correct packaging.  The delivery charge per order will be £6.99.  This can not be processed over the internet so please contact our Customer Services Team (0330 134 8680) who will complete your order over the phone.

I can’t complete my payment but do not want to cancel the order. What should I do?
Please contact our Customer Services Team (0330 134 8680) who will assist you with completing your payment and process your order over the phone.

Why can I not check out?
Please ensure that you are logged in, filling in all the relevant fields and have a minimum of 6 bottles in your basket and in multiples of 6 thereafter. If you are ordering a Magnum this is counted as an individual case and cannot (for example) be added to a case of 5 bottles.

What is the delivery charge?
Delivery charge to UK addresses is £6.99 per order for a minimum purchase of 6 bottles. If you would like to order less than 6 bottles the charge will be £6.99 per order but please contact our Customer Services Team (0330 134 8680) who will process your order as this cannot be done via the website. For deliveries to Scottish Highlands and Islands, Northern Ireland and Isle of Wight please click here for delivery charges and then call the office for your order to be processed. For deliveries to international addresses please call the office for a personalised quote.

When will my order be delivered?
We aim to delivery to you 2-3 working days from date of order. We will contact you via email if there are any delays.

Do you deliver overseas?
We can deliver to international addresses, please call the Customer Services Team (0330 134 8680) for a personalised quote.

Do you sell beers or other South African products?
No we just stick to what we know best... South African wine.

How do I claim my £10 off?
The voucher can be used once for any order you place, click here for instructions on how to redeem.

I forgot to use my voucher, can I use it on my next order?
Yes the voucher is valid once per customer so you will be able to redeem it on your next order with us. Click here for details on how to redeem.

Can I collect from the Warehouse?
Yes you can but please call the Customer Services Team (0330 134 8680) to place the order over the phone so you are not charged the delivery fee.

I haven’t received all of my delivery.
Please contact the Customer Services Team (0330 134 8680) who will follow up on the status of your delivery.

I missed my delivery.
The courier company will leave a card through your post box if they attempted delivery. If you have difficulties being home to receive delivery please call our Customer Services Team (0333 358 3092) to give instructions on where the wines can be left safely (i.e. with a neighbour or in the shed). Please note that the wines will be left at your risk.

I have been sent a wrong product.
Apologies for this. Please contact the Customer Services Team (0330 134 8680) who will either arrange a refund or send you a replacement bottle.

A bottle I received is faulty. What should I do?
Please call the Customer Service Team (0330 134 8680) and we can arrange either a refund or send you a replacement bottle.

Is it safe to shop online?
SA Wines Online guarantees to all users and customers full data security and confidentiality. We make use of a third payment provider (Sage Pay) so store no payment details on our system.

Can I order gift packaging?
We do have gift packaging options, please call our Customer Services Team (0330 134 8680) to discuss your requirements.

My order is a gift. Can I include a message?
Yes, once you have proceeded to Check Out please include the message in the Delivery Method Section. A card will be included in with the wine order.

How do I join your Wine Club?

Site Help

Finding your favourite wines

The main navigation for the web site is found on the top of every page and there are two main ways to find your favourite South African wine on our site.

The first is by wine type,  which can be selected from the drop down link on the top left of the page. When you click on the down arrow beside the box, you can make selections via your favourite type of wine, be it red or white, sparkling or rose‘.  By selecting the type of wine within this section, let’s say Merlot from the red wine section, all the Merlot wines we stock will be displayed.

The second way would be by your favourite South African winery or brand.  These can be selected from the drop down link "WINE BY WINERY".  A list of all the South African wineries we stock will be listed. You can scroll down to find the winery of your choice; it is in alphabetical order so Zonnebloem for example would be at the bottom. When you make your selection the available wines from that winery will be displayed.

Additional Functionality
Along the top of the screen you will also find "FOOD & WINE" and our "DISCOVER THE CAPE" sections which also offer routes to carefully selected wine.

The primary functions of the site can also be found at the top of each page; here you can return to the home page at any time (maybe to see our specials again!) to search (more on this in the Search Functionality section below), view our Terms & Conditions or learn a little more about the people behind this web site.

Search Functionality
If you can’t find what you are looking for or are not sure of all the details, try using the search function. If you click on one of the links from the search results, the relevant product page will be loaded. You may also search specific sections of the site from here without having to navigate to the section first. Enter your search phrase or word into the “keywords” space and click on search. You can further narrow down your search by selecting search criteria and / or categories too.

Adding wine to the basket
Once you have found and selected a wine that you want to buy, click in the empty box next to “add” button. This is where you need to specify how many bottles or cases of that particular wine you want.  Enter the number required (can be less than 12 if you are making up a case – explained in the ‘Create your own Case’ section below) and click on the “add” button.

The basket page will now be displayed and you can keep track of the total cost of your order on this page. Also, once you have added a product to the basket then the basket contents and total cost of the order will be available on the left of every page.

If you want to change the quantity of an item in the basket, simply overwrite what’s in the Qty box and click on the “recalculate” button to update the basket. Once you have completed adding bottles or cases to the basket, you are ready to start the checkout process. If you can’t see your basket, click on the “Basket” button along the top horizontal navigation.

How to create your own case
In order to create your own case (6 bottles) of mixed wine simply add one or more bottles of your favourite wines to the basket until you have 6 bottles (or a multiple thereof) and proceed to the checkout (by clicking on the “Checkout” button).

For example:

  • You can browse the site and add two bottles of Merlot to the basket.
  • Continue to browse products and add four bottles of Pinotage to the basket (you now have six bottles in the basket and you are half way to making up a case!).
  • Continue to browse products and add three bottles of Cabernet Sauvignon to the basket.
  • Continue to browse the products and add three bottles of Chardonnay to the basket. You now have 12 bottles in your basket and have successfully created your own case!

 

Checkout Process
When you have completed your shopping for this visit you can proceed to checkout to place your order. This is where you tell us who you are, where you want the wine sent to and pay by secure server. When presented with the checkout page please confirm how you want to pay (the default is by credit card) and enter your email address. From here on you will be asked for your contact and delivery details. Please ensure that you have your debit / credit card handy before starting the checkout process.

Saving / Recovering a basket
If you need to stop shopping for whatever reason, provided that you have registered and are logged in, you may save partial or completed baskets and come back later to complete the order.

You will be asked for a name (password) for the basket, choose something you will remember (birthday, Christmas etc.) and enter your email address. When you return to the site later, in the basket section on the top left you will find a “recover basket” button. You will only be able to recover your saved basket if the current basket is empty, you cannot have 2 baskets. You will need to enter the name (password) you called it before and enter your email address to recover the basket. From here you may continue as normal, adding more items or proceeding to the checkout if you have 6 (or a multiple thereof) bottles.
