The Papegaai 2015 is delicious blend of Chenin, Marsanne and Viognier grapes.
AA Badenhorst says that their inspiration comes from "The great old wines of South Africa and the discarded varietals, the bottles of which can be found in the forgotten corners of old cellars before modern methods and fame came along and changed the purity of the wines". This is definitely represented in the unique, honest flavours of their wines, crafted with traditional wine making equipment.
What they've said in the press:
"On the surface he has a devil-may-care attitude but underneath is a gifted winemaker who now suffuses his wines with that all-important ingredient. Personality. His winery located in Paardeberg, might look a bit cobbled together, but the wines that he vinifies from his 28-hectares of bush vine are individual and uncompromising and delicious. 'His charisma rubs off on the wines creates. Moreover, they are available at extremely affordable prices " Neal Martin, The Wine Advocate
