Zonnebloem - View Wines

Originally produced in the 18th century on the Zonnebloem farm at Simondium, the Zonnebloem reputation spread quickly amongst local wine-lovers due to the many awards earned at the Cape wine shows. The range also achieved a popular following in England, where it was imported by Burgoynes of London. It was at this point that Zonnebloem was incorporated into the SFW range. Produced under the expert guidance of Bill Winshaw, Zonnebloems sound reputation was evidenced in the high rating given a 1945 Zonnebloem Caubernet Sauvignon when tasted in 1977 by the Institute of Masters of Wine whose members pronounced it 'a magnificent, superb wine a great experience.
